NY METRO LIVE - Cybersecurity Meets ERISA: Closing the Gap in Benefit Plan Protection
What Plan Sponsors and Plan Fiduciaries Need to Know
Don't miss the New York Metro chapter's
live program and happy hour following.
Data breaches don't respect organizational silos—but too often cybersecurity teams and benefit plan fiduciaries operate as if they do. With data privacy laws multiplying and cyber threats growing more sophisticated, organizations can no longer afford to treat these as separate compliance checkboxes.
About the Program
Join our panel of experts as they break down what plan sponsors and fiduciaries need to know: from core data privacy and security obligations, to ERISA fiduciary duties in the cybersecurity context, to practical strategies for aligning IT security with benefit plan oversight. Because when it comes to protecting sensitive participant data, cybersecurity is a fiduciary responsibility.
This program will cover:
- Mapping the Landscape – A practical overview of organizational data privacy obligations and data mapping fundamentals
- Decoding DOL Guidance – What the Department of Labor expects from ERISA plan fiduciaries on cybersecurity
- Breaking Down Silos – Strategies for connecting cybersecurity professionals with plan fiduciaries
- Building Your Playbook – Best practices plan sponsors can implement today
The learning objective of this program is to help attorneys and other employee benefits professionals and their advisors better understand the current landscape of cybersecurity threats, and best practices for fiduciaries to meet their responsibilities to avoid breaches and respond appropriately if a breach occurs.
