Scott Behrens, JD, SVP and Director of Government Relations at Lockton

EXPERTISE
As the Director of Government Relations, Scott frequently works with other Lockton
experts and clients to educate policymakers on the technical and practical implications
of their policy decisions on insurance, benefits and retirement.
In addition, Scott has more than 16 years of legal experience practicing as an employee
benefits and executive compensation attorney. Through his practice, Scott has
developed an expertise in ERISA, HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act, numerous tax code
provisions, and other laws governing employee benefits and insurance.
Prior to joining Lockton, Scott worked as an Employee Benefits and Executive
Compensation Associate at an AmLaw 100 law firm and was able to hone his skills
working with some of the top attorneys in the nation.
Scott is a frequent speaker and author on political dynamics and how policy decisions
can and do shape business decisions. Scott was also the cohost of the award-winning
podcast series “ERISA Is a Friend of Mine.”
