Joe Peterson, M.D., is Founder, and Chairman & CEO of Bexa, Inc. He earned his B.A. in Biomedical Sciences '81 and M.D. '84 from the University of Michigan Medical School & Inteflex Program, Residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, was Associate Professor at George Washington University Medical Center for 10 years. He has worked in the Accident & Emergency Department of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and with the East African Flying Doctor Service in Nairobi flying into field surgeries in Kenya, Tanzania and the southern Sudan. For the last 35 years Peterson has been CEO of five companies including two venture-funded startups to exits, and two turnaround roles, all leading to successful transactions both private and public, raising and putting to use more than $300 MM in capital in the process, leading operations in the U.S., Canada, Paris, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Peterson has been Director of the Global Health Council, a jurist for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a Director of the AIDS Action Coalition, and currently leads the Bexa Alliance which provides Bexa exams to underserved communities in the U.S. most often in partnership with the Laura Bush Institute for Women's Health and Texas Tech University. |

Dr. Monique Gary Chief Medical Officer, Bexa, Inc.

Monique Gary, DO, MSc, FACS, FSSO, is an internationally recognized breast surgical oncologist, physician–scientist, and healthcare executive whose career spans clinical excellence, translational research, health equity, and digital health innovation. She currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Bexa, where she leads global clinical delivery, regulatory strategy and medical affairs for next-generation cancer screening and early detection solutions. Dr. Gary is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology. She also is a current Associate Professor in the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. Her leadership extends beyond academia to industry. She has held key consultative roles for Google Health, Eli Lily, Merck, Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca. Dr. Gary also has led and participated in numerous IRB-approved clinical trials, authored several publications and presented at national and international forums. Across clinical, corporate, and community platforms, Dr. Gary’s work is defined by a singular mission: to transform the oncology landscape in cancer detection and treatment through science, technology, and mission-driven leadership to impact global health and outcomes through scalable, practical and innovative solutions. In her spare time, she can be found teaching principles of integrative wellness at Still Rise Farms, her 40-acre living, learning laboratory and nonprofit for cancer patients and those facing chronic illness in Pennsylvania. |
